Workshop “Domestic solid waste treatment technology – Current status and solutions”

On December 9, 2023, G-Energy International participated in a seminar titled “Technology for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment – Current Status and Solutions,” organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Ben Tre Province.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Hong Thai highlighted that municipal solid waste has become a pressing issue, attracting increasing attention in the current period.

Accompanying the rise in the volume of municipal solid waste is the challenge of seeking and selecting appropriate waste treatment solutions. These solutions must ensure environmental protection and utilize waste as a resource. This issue has garnered significant attention not only in the Mekong Delta region but also in many other localities recently.

The seminar served as a platform for exchanging and sharing experiences in municipal solid waste treatment from developed countries. This exchange allows provinces to consider and choose technological solutions that are suitable for their local realities.

However, there are many challenges that demand close and timely coordination among various agencies, ministries, localities, enterprises, research institutes, universities, and individuals. The aim is to thoroughly address these challenges in municipal solid waste treatment and to develop and apply the most comprehensive technological solutions that suit Vietnamese conditions.

The Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ben Tre Province expressed that through this conference, Ben Tre specifically, and Southern provinces in general, look forward to continued attention and support from the Ministry of Science and Technology and other central ministries and sectors. This includes experts, scientists, businesses, and investors in managing solid waste towards a circular economy, as well as in strengthening further cooperation and partnership with Ben Tre Province and other Southern provinces in environmental matters.
